This is the largest one-day event held globally to remember bicyclists who have been injured or killed while riding. The national website is here: http://www.rideofsilence.org. We have an opportunity to participate locally in this national ride.
Leader(s): None, contact Fai Mok (firstname.lastname@example.org) for information
Location: Start at Glen Oak Park amphitheater parking lot
Start Time: 6:30 p.m.
Date: Wednesday May 18
Distance: 8 miles
Ride Level: Casual rider
The ride is *FREE* and all riders must be wearing a helmet – no exceptions! Participants must be at least 18 years old OR 10 years old with a parent or legal guardian present. Due the necessity of keeping the group together and finishing before 8 PM, we ask all participants follow the age regulations and be sure their child can maintain the 10 MPH average so the group doesn’t become strung out. Police will be at the lead/tail of riders, and their ability to maintain a safe event requires the group stay together as closely as possible.
*Please* do not use the Ride of Silence to promote your cycling event verbally or by handing out flyers – out of respect for those we are trying to honor.
