Meet at 9 a.m. across from IGA in the Park area. You can park on side streets. Mackinaw has many peaceful less traveled roads. Lunch can be at Mackinaw Park after the ride if they are selling sandwiches at IGA. Mileage is 32 miles.

NO BALONEY RIDE: August 26, 2023

The No Baloney Bicycle Ride returns for its 50th year on August 26th, 2023.

This year’s ride will depart and return from – Morton’s Kennel Lake Sportsmen’s Club. Situated just outside of Morton, this location offers great access to country roads while remaining close to I-74 and Highway 155 for those traveling to join us.

Similar to previous years, the event will include route distances of approximately 20, 45, 62, and 100 miles. Stay tuned for more details.

July 20, Springdale Cemetery Ride Start at the Peoria Riverfront Museum (Water St. entrance) 6:00 p.m.

Highlights: Discover how large the cemetery really is and how much of Peoria’s history is hidden within as we ride ALL of the loops of the cemetery.

July 27, Solar System Ride Start at the Donovan Park parking Lot. 6:00 p.m.

Highlights: Starting at Jupiter, follow the Rock Island Greenway past the terrestrial planets to the Sun at the Peoria Riverfront Museum and back. We will be returning just after sunset to observe the 1st Quarter Moon through Northmoor Observatory’s historic 110 year old telescope.

August 3,   50’s Soft Serve Ride Start at Heritage Square, 4450 N Prospect, Peoria Heights, 6:00 p.m.

Highlights: Ride to a classic soft serve Ice Cream stand, then finish with more ice cream in the Heights.

Rich Giebelhausen will lead a ride from Morton Pool at Idlewood Park at 451
E Idlewood St. Starting a 9 a.m. We have one stop at the Washington Casey’s and finish up
with 25.95 miles.

 

June 9, Friday:

Randy Swensen will lead and meet at the Coffee Can in Hanna City with
departure at 8:30 am. Ride to Farmington with a stop at Circle K. About 28 miles.

 

Wednesday, June 21:

Allan Wenninger ” Hopedale Ride”. Meet Tremont Park right off Rt. 9 in Tremont .  Park in front of the pool.  Time 9am. 32 miles.  There will be a Casey’s stop in Hopedale and hopefully Pinky’s will be open for ice cream after the ride.

 

Wednesday, June 28:

9:00 a.m. to Wyoming with a stop at Casey’s. Return to Bradford for an awesome lunch.

Friday, July 21:

Larry Trollope is the leader & meeting at 8:30 at the Fondulac Park District
parking lot near the Caboose E. Peoria. We will travel to Goodfield with lunch at Busy Corner. 35 mile ride.

 

Friday, August 11:

Allan Wenninger’s “Evergreen Bloomington Lake Ride”. Comalara Park Hudson, IL. Meet at Comalara Park/Front parking lot. Time 9:30am, miles: 32. LAKE ROAD INN  HTTPS:WWW.LAKEROADINN.NET

 

Wednesday, August 23:

Ken Pope leads his Alpaca Ride meeting at Pearce Community  Center, 610 W. Cedar St., Chillicothe at 9 a.m. We will be visiting the Alpaca Farm which is  about 18 miles out arriving about 11 a.m. These Alpacas are so gentle and fun to be around.
I know we wish our grandchildren could be on this trip. Lunch is at Lucky Dog Pub & Eatery at  701 N 4th St., Chillicothe following the ride for those who care to join us. Mileage 32 miles.

 

Wednesday, Sept. 6:

LaVerne Wilson & Walt Klypchak lead Tanners Ride meeting at 9 a.m.
Pearce Community Center at 610 W Cedar St. Chillicothe. Lunch at Tanners and returning
different route down Lake Shore Dr., Hallock Hollow, and Cloverdale Rd. Mileage 35 miles
estimated.

 

Wednesday, Sept. 20:

LaVerne Wilson & Walt Klypchak lead a ride from Russell’s Cycle to  Metamora & Eureka with Lunch at Brakers. Mileage estimate 30+ miles. Meet at 9 a.m.

MORTON MONDAY RIDES

Al Wenninger will be leading the Morton’s Monday Ride group this year.  The ride will be a level 1 (10 to 12mph average) ride starting in May and riding thru September.  The group will meet at McClallen Park(soccer fields) located on Jackson (Rt 150) and Tennessee Street in Morton.  Starting time is at 9 AM until June when it turns to 8 AM(no more school buses).  Ride length will start around 25 miles but, get longer as season progresses.  All rides will have a coffee shop stop.  Please allow extra time for the stop.  You can contact Al by email:  alcycle200@gmail.com.

So for the rest of March let’s start at 10:00 from the Methodist Church in Dunlap. 

In April we’ll start at 9:00.

In May and the rest of the summer, let’s start  at 8:00.

SPRING BREAKOUT RIDE- May 6th

DON’T MISS THIS RIDE!

The Spring Breakout Ride will be held on Saturday, May 6th, at Russell’s Cycling and Fitness in Washington.

Restrooms in the store will be available at 8:00 am and we ride at 9:00 am.

There will be 2 routes, one about 25 miles and one 40+ miles.

Joe Russell will be providing refreshments after the ride.

TUESDAY EVENING RIDE

Tuesday evening ride at Dunlap Grade School:

Steve Kurt leads this ride from the Dunlap Grade School.  Mileage will be 20-30 as daylight permits. The speed for the group will generally average 17mph.  The ride will regroup and make sure no riders are left behind.

From April 18 to May 9th, the start time will be 5:30pm.
From May 16 to Aug 29th, the start time will be 6:00 pm.
From Sept 5th to Oct 10, the ride will start at 5:30.
