EDITH ALBRIGHT OBITUARY
Edith Rhoda Albright, 83, formerly of Chillicothe, IL died at 9:07 p.m. Monday, November 14, 2022 at Holly Brook Assisted Living & Memory Care (East Peoria, IL).
Born Feb. 28, 1939, in Colby, Kansas (Thomas County), to Ernest Redmond and Minnie Edith Munkres, she married Thomas Millard Albright on Sept. 8th, 1957 in Colby, Kansas.
Surviving are one daughter, Dr. Susan Albright of Chenoa, IL; two sons, Thomas “Mark” (wife Linda) of Castle Rock, Colo., and Aaron (wife Amy) of East Peoria, IL.; three grandchildren, Alex and Alison (East Peoria, IL) and Ashley Lipe (husband Matt) of Fairview, TX.
Edith was preceded in death by her parents and one older sister (Daisy) and her husband, Tom.
She received an RN’s degree from Methodist Medical Center and worked for many years as Director of Nursing for Galena Park Nursing Home and The Lutheran Nursing Home. Edith finished her nursing career at Wabco and retired from Caterpillar.
Edith was a dedicated bicyclist and a member of the Illinois Valley Wheelm’n. She twice bicycled across the United States (both Coast to Coast & Border to Border) with Wandering Wheels. She enjoyed traveling internationally and bicycled overseas including New Zealand, the Netherlands, China, England and Ireland.
With husband “Tom” she was part of Edelstein Do-Si-Do and Chilli Cast Offs Square Dance Club for many years.
Edith was an avid animal lover sharing her life with many dogs, cats and the ‘infamous’ parrot (George) she taught to talk. George lives and talks on in the care of Dr. Susan Albright, DVM.
A member of Methodist Church, Edith served on the Blue Ridge Cemetery board for several years publishing their annual newsletter.
A graveside service will be held at Blue Ridge Cemetery in Edelstein at 11am Saturday November 19, 2022. All are invited. There will be a remote ‘celebration of life’ scheduled in the near future. Please send your email to albrightatm@sbcglobal.net to receive information. Donations/Flowers may be sent to Holly Brook Assisted Living & Memory Care (East Peoria) or Illinois Valley Wheelm’n. Arrangements are under the care of Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe.

MEET IN THE MIDDLE
What: 10th Annual Meet in the Middle hosted by the Village of Mackinaw and State Representative Keith Sommer. This is a great opportunity to meet up with bicyclists from the Bloomington-Normal area. Refreshments will be provided by the Village of Mackinaw and Representative Sommer. Be sure to also thank Josh Schmidgal of the Village of Mackinaw and his staff.
When: Saturday September 24th.
Location: Mackinaw Veterans Park
Time: 10:30 am
Ride details from Peoria:
Updates for Meet in the Middle.
There will be a ride from Russell Cycle leaving at 9 am.
(Also, a section of the Rock Island Greenway Trail around Glen Avenue has been closed for installation of a water main. The section between Glen and Sherman’s Warehouse is now open. A short section north of Glen is still closed but the contractor plans to be done this week)
Ride from Connor and Company parking lot on Pioneer Parkway at 7:30 am. Ride the Rock Island Greenway Trail to Bushwacker to meet up with other riders. Leave Bushwacker at 7:45 riding the Trail to Fondulac Park District Administration Building. There is no ride leader at these locations.
Ride details from East Peoria: Meet at the Fondulac Park Dist. Administration Building by the caboose between 8:30 and 8:50. Leave at 8:50 am and ride the Trail to Morton’s Westwood Park. Randy Swenson will be the ride leader.
Ride details from Morton: Meet at Westwood Park between 9:20 and 9:40 am. Take time to snack on whatever you bring yourself. Leave at 9:40 am heading to Mackinaw. Randy Swenson will be the ride leader. This is a no drop ride.
Ride details from Washington: Meet at Russell’s bike shop. There will not be a ride leader from Washington. Leave in time to be in Mackinaw by around 10:30 to 10:45 am.

From Bushwacker – 62 miles
From East Peoria – 41 miles
From Morton – 29 miles

NO BALONEY BICYCLE RIDE -Sign Up Now!! Volunteers Needed…
No Baloney Bicycle Ride
August 27th:
We are pleased to announce registration is now open for No Baloney 2022! Register Now!
The No Baloney Bicycle Ride returns for its 49th year on August 27th, 2022. Registration opens July 1st!
The ride will depart and return from – Morton’s Kennel Lake Sportsmen’s Club. Situated just outside of Morton, this location offers great access to country roads while remaining close to I-74 and Highway 155 for those traveling to join us.
Similar to previous years, the event will include route distances of approximately 20, 45, 62, and 100 miles. Stay tuned for more details.

NEW RIDE
I, (Al Wenninger) am starting a new organized ride called the Eastside River Group. Due to high gas prices, several riders have asked for this ride and it will not be in conflict with Russell’s Thursday Woman’s Ride. This ride will mainly be on the Eastside of the Illinois River on Wednesdays. Rides will be out of Washington, Mackinaw, Eureka, Morton, Metamora and East Peoria.
Please let me know if you want your name added to this ride list.
Rides will start at 8AM sharp. No drop rides around 35 to 40 miles.
Level 1/ Level 2 rides with one stop around halfway
