George M. Burrier Jr, who was instrumental in establishing the Rock Island State Trail passed February 17, 2025. He was president of the Friends of the Rock Island Trail for 28 years and a staunch advocate for the creation of this incredible multi-use trail in Central Illinois, for which we have collectively gained such a great appreciation.
