IVW Out of Box Ride Schedule 2025
Wednesday, May 14: Terry Hunt: We will depart from Eureka Lake upper park by the water tower which is on Lake Road just west of the intersection of Lake Road and route 117. Start time will be 9:00 a.m. The ride will tour scenic country roads and be approximately 30 miles long. Come prepared to ride together because nobody will be dropped. The purpose will be to enjoy getting back together again for a social ride with moderate exercise.(cancelled due to weather forecast) Wednesday, May 21: Ken Pope Morton Castles & Cathedrals Ride which starts and ends at the Morton Westwood Park. The ride starts at 9 a.m. for 34 miles and lunch at the old Mel’s …now 520 Café.Saturday, June 7: Randy Swensen leads the ride from Brimfield High School Athletic Field parking lot at 9am. The route is 18 miles to Elmwood and 9 miles back. The route back will be clearly marked so riders can leave Elmwood anytime they want. You will be visiting the Elmwood Strawberry Festival.Friday, June 13: Jim Mcintyre will lead Tremont Ride. A scenic 36 miles out and back on lesser traveled roads in SE Tazewell County. The few hills will get your attention but will not overwhelm you. Depending on which roads are the smoothest we will work our way to Springfield Rd. to Mackinaw River Valley. We ride parallel to the river for several miles and then head over to Green Valley and stop at Casey’s. After the break we will go back on the same roads.
Friday, June 20: Walt Klypchak & LaVerne Wilson lead the Mackinaw to Carlock ride. Meet at 9 a.m. across from IGA in the Park area. You can park on side streets. Mackinaw has many peaceful less traveled roads. Lunch can be in the park after the ride if they are selling sandwiches at IGA. Mileage is 32 miles.Wednesday, July 9: Jana Reed Bradford Ride will be meeting at Elsie Hidges Park in Bradford at 9am. For those coming from the south the park is located to the east (right) of at he four-way stop in Bradford. Our route will take us to Wyoming where we will stop for a break at Casey’s before heading back to Bradford for lunch at the Main Street Bar and Grill. The grill is on the right side of Main Street, just two doors down from the four-way stop sign as you head west. The expected ride is approx. 30 miles.Wednesday, July 23: Randy Swensen & Ken Pope will lead the Evergreen Bloomington Lake Ride at Comlara Park in Hudson, IL. Meet at Comlara Park/Front parking lot. Time 9:30, miles: 32, Lake Road Inn is lunch.hptts://www.lakerroadinn.netWednesday, August 13: Larry Trollope will lead the Morton to Goodfield ride. The ride will depart at 8:30 a.m. We are also planning to have lunch at Busy Corner Restaurant in Goodfield before returning to Westwood Park in Morton.Wednesday, August 27: Ken Pope Alpaca Ride in the Chillicothe area. 32 miles. Meet at Pearce Community Center, 610 W. Cedar St., Chillicothe at 9 a.m. We will be visiting the Alpaca Farm. Lunch at Sweet Water Kitchen a new restaurant on River Beach Rd.Wednesday, September 10: Walt Klypchak & LaVerne Wilson will do Tanners Ride for 35 miles. Meet at Pearce Community Center at 9 a.m. Lunch or snacks at Tanners.Wednesday, September 24: Randy Swensen Brimfield to Farmington Ride 33.5 miles. Meet at Brimfield High School Athletic Field parking lot
